Job Description

Position: Thermal Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Thermal Systems Engineer to focus on the design and development of a variety of hardware related to vehicle's multiple fluid systems.

What You'll Do:

· Take ownership of the design, development and verification of one or more Thermal System, i.e., HVAC, HV system, Hybrid Drive or Internal Combustion Engine / Turbo system.
· Develop thermal system concepts to meet performance attributes using CAE and simulation tools, working in conjunction with our in-house simulation experts.
· Lead the design of thermal systems within the vehicle package constraints.
· Specify and select components and suppliers. Manage suppliers to ensure delivery of components.
· Support the definition and calibration of thermal system controls.
· Define DVP at component, system and vehicle level. Ensure tests are carried out and results analyzed and documented.
· Support prototype and production vehicle builds.
· Provide input into the definition of thermal systems of future vehicles and explore new applications of AI Design and Additive Manufacturing within the thermal management domain.

What You'll Have:

· You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
· You have at least 5 years Powertrain development in High Performance Automotive or Motorsport
· 5+ Years' experience developing one or more vehicle thermal systems, i.e HVAC, ICE, HV or Hybrid Drive Cooling Systems.
· Extensive knowledge of the fundaments of the internal combustion engines & Hybrid Electric Vehicle operation
· First principles understanding of heat exchange, cooling and refrigerant systems.
· Good CAD skills, ideally with NX. Although training can be given to convert from other CAD packages such as CATIA/Solidworks.
· Supplier management
· Can plan and execute tests at component and system level
· Methodical and systematic
· Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Can collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners
· Has a solution orientated approach and takes ownership of given responsibilities

Salary: £90000 – £110000/annum
