If you have got your interview time and date, the next thing you need to do is collect all the paperwork relevant that you have including your own CV and begin to match what you can do with what the job entails and highlight any areas that you feel may need some work.
You also need to find out exactly where the interview will be held and who with, are you being interviewed by one person or a panel situation? Do you need to take your CRB check with you or do you need a new CRB check as you will almost certainly need to be checked for this role.
Once you are happy with the interview location and that you can do the role well, you then need to concentrate on some questions that you could ask your interviewers and also what questions you may be asked, some of which could be as below:

- What do you think are the main issues you will face as a support worker?
- How do you engage with people?
- What do you do when someone is having a bad day and doesn’t want to join in?
- Have you devised any new activities which have been interesting to children?
- How you fit the role based on your personal experiences.

- If you noticed your collegue abuse client, what would you do?
- What is the difference between a carer and support worker?
- Describe your understanding of equal opportunities and how you would implement that in everyday work.
- Give an example of a time when you made a bad decision, but the outcome was positive. This was in relation to interpersonal skills.
- What steps would you take if you saw somebody fall on the ward?
- Why do you think you will be a good support worker?
- Will you be able to cope with clients difficult and sometimes aggressive behaviour?
There are many areas to consider in this position but the main one being that you are required to provide support to someone or multiple people in a centre who need help with daily life duties that we may find fairly simple.
