1st Line Support Interview Questions and Tips

If you have an interview for a 1st Line support role then you will need to be experienced in IT and be able to explain how things work in a non technical manner.

If you have got an interview lined up the first thing you need to do is your research. Look into the company and what exactly they do and where they are and how they are perceived in the market place. In this role you will spend the majority of your time on the phone talking to the people you are supporting. You will rarely get to see the equipment that you are trying to fix so your communication skills need to be excellent to explain how to do these things to non technical minded people.

You will need to demonstrate to your interviewer that you can keep up to date with new skills and requirements and learn them fast so that you can show others how to use something.
